FL-EUR PANEL at the ISFL 2023 World Conference
From 12 – 15 July 2023, the International Society of Family Law hosted its 18th (Golden Jubilee) World Conference in Antwerp, Belgium, titled “Rethinking Law’s Families & Family Law”. A special panel of this conference was dedicated to “Protection and Autonomy of Adults: the work of FL-EUR”. Five presentations provided insights into FL-EUR’s current major project and the country reports prepared in this context.
Masha Antokolskaia, as chair, first gave the interested audience the opportunity to learn more about the academic network and its working method. This was followed by Jordi Ribot Igualada, Felix Leven, Katrine Kjærheim Fredwall and Fiore Schuthof as speakers, who addressed exemplary key aspects of the country reports from Spain, Germany and Norway, but also presented first comprehensive comparative analyses. The concluding discussion showed the high scientific value of the 30 country reports, which will be published successively on this website. It is now important to continue the comparative analyses. This is part of the ongoing activities in FL-EUR’s first working field “Empowerment and Protection of Vulnerable Adults”.
